To make maple syrup, tap a tree as I've done below. The sap runs best when the nights are -5c or below, and the days +5c. Once you've collected the sap, you simply boil it off. This boiling off of the syrup takes a long time since you need to reduce it 30 or 40 to 1 (meaning that it takes 30 liters of sap to make 1 liter of maple syrup).
